The 2021 olive harvest campaign has begun in the olive groves of Cantine Franzosi. As every year, we will select the best olives from Lake Garda to guarantee you an excellent extra virgin olive oil, despite the weather characterized by spring frosts and the intense dry summer heat that compromised the production as it happened two years ago.
The cultivation of the olive tree on the shores of Lake Garda has ancient origins and traditions, dating back to Roman times. Thanks to the Mediterranean microclimate, the Garda extra virgin olive oil, such as Casaliva, Leccino and Fiore, produced in Valtènesi, is considered a fine, light and fruity oil, with notes reminiscent of fresh grass, artichoke, hay, aromatic herbs, with a soft and spicy taste, accompanied by a typical almond aftertaste, savory and harmonious.
Extra virgin olive oil of Lake Garda is rich in oleic acid, vitamin E and biophenolic compounds and it is a unique and very versatile oil, ideal to combine with fish dishes, meats, carpaccio, raw and cooked vegetables, salads and vegetables with vinaigrette, truly delicious on bruschetta, fresh or aged cheeses and for the preparation of desserts. Finally, it is also used in cosmetics for its high nourishing and moisturizing value.
