If we were asked to choose a symbol that represents the history of our family, we might choose a bottle of Valtènesi Riviera del Garda Classico “Selezione Bruno Franzosi” wine.
It is a wine that tells about our family and our land, the most ancient and authentic part that we cultivate with pride and great commitment every day.
This red wine from Lake Garda comes from the hand-picked and selected grapes of Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese and Rebo. Production per hectare is around 60-70 quintals and this year we have been able to produce about 12,000 bottles.
The vinification process is meticulous as well as fascinating: this wine is aged for six months in large barrels and barriques, followed by further aging in the bottle for a period of about 6 months.
In the glass it shows an intense ruby red colour, on the nose it is fruity with notes of black cherry, blueberries and spices. The taste does not betray its aromas, since in the mouth we find them all in a harmonious and enveloping way.
The best temperature to enjoy this wine with all its finest features, smoothness and aromas, is around 19 – 20 ° C.
The structure of Valtènesi Riviera del Garda Classico “Selezione Bruno Franzosi” wine withstands bottle aging very well and in optimal conditions; in a cellar with the right degree of humidity, the wine can also be stored for a long time.
The territory in which this wine is produced is part of the Riviera del Garda Classico DOC, characterized by a particularly mild microclimate, regulated by the waters of the lake and good ventilation that favor the ideal conditions for the growth not only of vines but also of olive trees and citrus fruits.
The hills of Valtènesi indeed represent its productive fulcrum. Moreover, the quality of the wines produced as DOC since 1967 has grown over time, so much so that in 1996 it gained the recognition represented by the mention classico next to the name Garda.
Thanks to its complexity, it is an ideal wine to be consumed in combination with all grilled red meats, roasts, game and aged cheese.
